WELCOME TO THE
SCRANTON "POLITICAL" TIMES
MESSAGE BOARD
This is the second secured message board. The previous secured message board was suspended by the
Pennsylvania State Police on October 7, 2005 after Sara Hailstone and her father complained that her name was mentioned. The PSP was immediately sued for violating our constitutional rights to free speech and association.

THIS IS WHERE PEOPLE ARE HAVING DISCUSSIONS ON SCRANTON POLITICS.  YOU CAN GET THE TRUTH HERE, UNLIKE WHAT YOU READ IN THE SCRANTON TIMES TRIBUNE NEWSPAPER. THIS MESSAGE BOARD IS FOR CREATING AND GENERATING TRAFFIC FOR THE BENEFIT OF GIVING YOU INFORMATION, AND OBTAINING INFORMATION, ABOUT OUR LOCAL GOVERNMENT.

This is a secured Interactive Message Board. One intent and purpose of this secured Message Board is to expose, investigate and discuss any possible corruption, deceit, lies, theft, fraud or other misconduct of the current city and county administrations, to include any and all questionable conduct of any and all employees of any capacity, or the misconduct of any contractors, vendors, suppliers or professional services who do work for our government and are paid from any government revenue or funds. Another purpose of this message board is to advocate and promote the eradication of corruption in any way or means available, to include taking legal actions against corruption, or to support, to any degree, a candidate or candidates believed to be more capable of serving the best interests of the people.  The promotion or advocacy of any candidate within this message board is within the sole discretion of the Administrator of this forum.  Posts that support or advocate for any specific candidate are subject to the Administrator's discretion in terms of allowing the posts to stand or be deleted, without explanation of either.

The secured message board will also provide an opportunity to share political related thoughts and opinions involving the numerous political elements of city government. You may participate by posting politically related messages and opinions, responding to messages of others, or by simply reviewing the opinions and factual statements of participating posters. There is no fee for participaton or viewing. Freedom of speech is free.
As a participant, you are respectfully requested to keep your content politically related to the intent and purpose of this Message Board. It is not the purpose or intent of this Message Board to personally attack other posters, so stay focused on the messages and not focused on abusing the any of the messengers. That abuse can result in being banned from participation. As the Administrator, I will not dictate content any further than those requests. The secure Message Board provides the Administrator with the option of deleting messages that are offensive and/or nothing more than a personal attack on other posters. In addition, the Administrator has the option of banning posters from this Message Board who demonstrate departure from the purpose of the board or the abuse of other posters or non-political persons.
Where political officials and/or candidates, city employees, contractors, vendors and professional services are concerned, their moral and ethical character is subject to opinion as relates to their job performance and conduct. Their job performance may be influenced by their personal life. I simply ask that you phrase your scrutiny using words and terms that would address their conduct as it relates to your view of any proposed or alleged immoral or unethical conduct. We are all adults. I am not going to even try to take your preferred adjectives and adverbs away from you regarding your views and opinions, however, profanity or sexually oriented expressions should be excluded from posts. If they appear, they may be deleted. If they are repeated, the poster may be banned. I don't want to ban anyone. Please try to use good judgment and fairness when expressing personal feelings about any city employees or people who deal with the city.
You can post on this message board by clicking the links at the top of this page, which takes you to the message board.  Registration allows you to select a ficticious user name. I request that you select a non-offensive user name. Offensive user names will be deleted, then banned if repeated. However, a ban will attach to the computer's IP address, and also the user name.

NOTICE TO ALL POSTERS

As a poster here, you can be identified through your IP address. You will not be anonymous. Therefore, you can be held responsible for the content of your posting(s).  You have a Constitutional right to Free Speech provided by the First Amendment of the Constitution. Click here to read it.  Vulgarity, threats, fighting words or inciting words are not always "protected speech".  However, the truth is very often privileged and protected speech.  Factual things that you may state on this board about anyone can be vulnerable to defamation (libel) and other legal actions if they are not true. If you're going to call someone a corrupt thief, for example, you should provide the proof that it is true, or you risk legal consequences. Candidates and city employees and their past or present conduct, which conduct may shed light upon their ability to conduct themselves morally, ethically or professionally as public officials or employees are fair game for discussion in my view.  We pay them tax dollars, so they should be accountable to us.
Please use minimal wording in the New Topic area to describe the content of your post.  Enjoy your freedom of speech.  It's all we have to defend ourselves and fight for what belongs to us.  It's all we have to hold all public employees accountable.
One last thing, the identities of participants using ficticious names is protected.  It is confidential information.  If you know, or think you know, who is posting under a particular ficticious name, you are not allowed to post it, or even make a suggestion.  You don't have to like everything written here, but you do have to respect it.
