If you were watching the council meeting aired on Thursday, November
3rd, you experienced a black out just before the council members were to begin making their comments about city business and
opinions regarding the misconduct of the Doherty Administration.
If you're not extremely upset, you certainly should be. This
amounts to totally controlling what you have a right to hear about your government. Our corrupt Mayor Doherty is in the fight
of his life to keep his corrupt political career going. However, there has been so much of his corruption exposed that
he'll never recover from it. He has outspent his opponent by hundreds of thousands of dollars, yet the race was
dead even a week ago. Other polls have Gary Dibileo 10 to 12 points ahead at this time. The people
have been overwhelmed with Doherty's compaign of non-stop mail, and the Times' articles that lie to them. The people
know that all this mass mailing, day after day, from yet another politician endorsing him is extremely suspicious. The
people know that these politicians are in all bed together. Why is all this mail being sent to us?
Something is wrong, very wrong. If his record was so good, why all this in-your-face everyday campaigning?
It's because his record is absolutely horrendous.
Where was this guy for four years when we needed him? Sure,
we're getting streets paved all over the city now. Well, we needed them paved two and three years ago. It's nice
that they're paved now, but it's also easy to see why he's doing it. Besides, the mayor isn't doing anything he's not
paid to do, and we, the people pay for the paving anyway, that is, if the utilities haven't done it. So, who's he trying to
fool with this eleventh hour paving rush?
Paving doesn't mask the truth, does it?
About the council meeting; after Janet Evans exposed many more
very serious problems with mismanagement and reckless spending, it was revealed that Mayor Doherty's sister, Virginia, has somehow
gotten her husband's steel firm a huge contract with the new garage being built. And, it was revealed that the Mayor's
brother, Tim, may have been making some big paydays working on health care cases.
With so many other relatives and friends already sucking the
taxpayers dry, after these facts were learned, Councilman Bill Courtright made a motion to put an end to hiring family
businesses to do work on city projects, or on jobs being paid for with any government money. The motion
was passed, except John Pocius voted AGAINST it. Why? He's got his hand so deep into the taxpayers'
wallets now, why should he want to be forced to pull it out? Pocius' business, CECO, obtained hundreds of thousands of
dollars worth of business with the SSA. That's not right. He's a councilman and should not be awarded any contracts,
especially no-bid contracts.

UNDER ATTACK FOR SIX MONTHS NOW.
LOOK AT HOW THE SCRANTON TIMES DISGRACEFULLY ATTACKED REGULAR
PEOPLE, LIKE YOU AND ME, WHO WENT TO COUNCIL MEETING JUST TO HAVE THEIR VOICE HEARD. THEY WERE TAXPAYERS AND RESIDENTS. MAYBE
THEIR FINGERNAILS WEREN'T PERFECTLY MANICURED, BUT YOU KNOW WHAT? WORKING PEOPLE HAVE DIRT UNDER THEIR FINGERNAILS.
JUST BECAUSE CHRIS DOHERTY IS A VERY WEALTHY PERSON
AND HAS
A WEALTHY NEWSPAPER
SUPPORTING HIM, DOESN'T
MEAN HIS MONEY CAN STEAL THIS ELECTION.
THERE ARE TENS OF THOUSANDS MORE REGULAR
PEOPLE, RESIDENTS AND TAXPAYERS, WHO EASILY OUTNUMBER THE RICH, GREEDY AND ARROGANT. HE CAN'T BUY IT UNLESS WE DON'T VOTE.
MAYOR DOHERTY IS SCARED, VERY SCARED. HE'S CAUGHT WITH
HIS HAND IN THE COOKIE JAR. THAT'S WHAT ALL THIS SPENDING ON HIS CAMPAIGN IS ALL ABOUT. HE MUST FOOL US, BUT HOW CAN HE FOOL
ANYONE WHEN WE ALL KNOW THE TRUTH ABOUT THE
$275,000,000.00 DEBT HE PUT ON OUR BACKS?
THAT WILL DOUBLE IF HE IS RE-ELECTED.
AND HERE'S ANOTHER THING. HE'S NOT STAYING AS MAYOR
IF HE WINS. HE'S GOING TO RUN FOR CONGRESS. SO, AS MAYOR, HE'LL BE ALSO CAMPAIGNING FOR THAT. IF HE WINS THAT, HE THEN HAS
TO ABANDON THE MAYOR'S JOB AND LEAVE US IN A HORRIBLE FINANCIAL MESS. WE ABSOLUTELY HAVE TO VOTE HIM AND ALL OF HIS
SPONGE FRIENDS OUT OF OFFICE NOW, RIGHT NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
