On February 10, 2007, we received a tip that the Zoo at Nay Aug Park had been without water for 5 days. Here are the pictures of the sign on the door of the Zoo. While these folks and animals are suffering a critical situation, there has been nothing in the Scranton Times Tribune reporting on this story.

The information we received is that in the past, the city winterized the main supply, but it wasn't done this year. The zoo has been existing on water donations from private sources, but the best the city could do was give them a key to the concession stand so they could fill up their own jugs. Apparently, to make matters more difficult, they have not yet received their annual $50,000 from the city, which in years past has been appropriated by now.
